Turkish beer
This weeks friday drinks is beer, and turkish beer. Im guessing most of you have had an EFES or two on one of the many beaches in the Antalya area, but have you ever tried a Bomonti? EFES Bomonti EFES Xtra shot So, EFES we know of, and thats kind of a light pils, nothing really remarkable but still a good friend on a hot day. The Bomonti on the other hand, now thats a best friend. They come in several different types, unfiltered, red ale, black and malt. I think my favorite was the unfiltered, strangely enough, cuz I never drink it at home, just in Turkey. I dont…

The Blue Mosque
The Blue Mosque is defenatly one of those historical sites, or tourist attracktions if you like, that one’s suppose to see when you’re in Istanbul. It was 36 degrees celsius and thats 96.8 degrees fahrenheit. We had just stood in line for fourty minutes to enter the Hagia Sofia Museum, so I was not really in the mood the stand in another crowded line. Yes, I did it again. I was at the must-see places during the time when every one else was to, at the high point of the day. So this is all I’ve got of the famous Blue Mosque. //Ann Dont forget to join us on Facebook…

Süleymaniye Mosque
It is the second largest mosque in the city, so its a well known tourist site for sure and after beeing there, I can totally understand why. This was my favorite building to visit in Istanbul, it was calm and quiet. Big enough to hide all the wandering tourists. And yes, I know, its a lot of images and I do promise, there will be more because this is one mosque that we revisited during our stay in Istanbul, both day and night, without me realising we’d just entered the same huge magical place from a different angle. But I will show you more in a different post,…

Pegasus Airlines
Pegasus Airways. I mean have you ever heard of it? I hadn’t, atleast not untill we booked our flight to Istanbul. I was so sure it would be just a no name airline, really small and simple. Maybe due to the fact that we were traveling to the small airport of istanbul. I couldnt have been more wrong… Its not a small airport, its huge. Restaurants, pubs, taxfree shops and lots and lots of hangarounds. Theres simply nothing small about it. I was wrong. Anyways back to the airline. And I was wrong about the airline, Pegasus may not be known to little old me in Sweden, but its quite…

First impressions of Istanbul
Once in while you find yourself, wandering around in a new city, wondering why you’ve never been here before. Thats kind of the feeling I got when I was walking the cobblestone streets of Istanbul. I already knew that I would love to see the city and that I would like. I liked the city before I even visited. Its been once of those cities that not on the bucketlist, but more on the hidden agenda. Does that make sence? If it doesnt make sence to you, I primise you that it would if you gave the great old city of Istanbul a good try. It has about everything to…

56 days spent in Turkey
Turkey is by far the country in Europe that I’ve visited the most. I’ve been trying my best to remember all of the times that I’ve been in different parts of Turkey during the years, and it could be that I might have forgotten some of the trips that I took during earlier years. But I dont think so. 2001, Alanya2002, Alanya for two weeks 2010, Side2011, Alanya2012, Özdere Izmir / Kusadasi2013, Alanya2014, Oba This equals 7 trips to Turkey, about 56 days – give or take a few. I cant tell for sure which one of the different trips that was 7 or 8 days, so I’ve summed it…
